How we look after your passport

  • Sealed and numbered

Each passport goes into its own sealed, numbered envelope.

  • Locked storage

Kept in a locked drawer until filing day.

  • Signed custody log

Every handover, from drop-off to collection, is signed in our custody log.

  • Authorised collection only

Someone else may collect for you if you email us their name in advance. They show their own ID and sign our log.

What to bring

  • Your original passport.
  • The TM.30 receipt for your current Bangkok address, issued after your latest entry into Thailand. Your landlord or condo office files the TM.30.
  • Your previous 90-day report receipt, if you have one.

We prepare your TM.47 for you to sign. No photocopies needed.

Can't come in? Send your own courier

We do not pick up or deliver passports. You can send a courier you book and pay for yourself, for drop-off, collection or both.

  1. 1.Book your filing as usual. We email you your TM.47, already filled in.
  2. 2.Print and sign it. Seal it in an envelope with your passport, TM.30 receipt and previous 90-day receipt, with your name on the envelope.
  3. 3.Send us the rider's name, plate number and arrival time before they come. The drop-off cut-off is the same: Tuesday 18:00.
  4. 4.We check the rider and the sealed envelope, sign it into our log and send you a photo.
  5. 5.For collection, book a courier for Thursday or later and send us the rider's details. We hand your sealed passport only to that rider and send you a photo of the handover.

Without a printed, signed TM.47 we cannot file, and the envelope goes back with your courier. Check that your courier's own terms allow it to carry passports. The courier is your booking and your responsibility.

The rules, day by day

The reporting window

This window applies when you report in person or through someone you authorise. Online and postal reports have their own conditions, below.

  1. Step 1: Day 0

    You enter Thailand

The count starts on your latest entry. Leaving and coming back restarts it.

  2. Step 2: Day 75

    Window opens

The earliest day to report: 15 days before the due date.

  3. Step 3: Day 90

    Report due

90 days after your latest entry.

  4. Step 4: Day 97

    Window closes

The last day to report on time: 7 days after the due date.

Missed the window? You must report in person at immigration and pay a THB 2,000 fine. Late reports cannot be made online or by post.

Four ways to make your report

  1. 01

    In person

At the immigration office for the area where you live, within the window above.

  2. 02

    Through someone you authorise

Another person can report on your behalf, within the same window. In Bangkok, our team can file it for you.

  3. 03

    Online

Through the Immigration Bureau's TM.47 service, from 15 days before your due date. Not available for late reports, and in practice often not for the first report after each entry.

  4. 04

    By registered mail

Post the signed TM.47 and the documents Immigration lists at least 15 days before your due date. Mail cannot be processed once your 90 days have passed. We don't recommend it: a lost or slow letter can make your report late.

Online service: Immigration Bureau TM.47. Registered-mail checklist: Immigration Bureau.

Where to report in Bangkok

90 Days Report Section, Immigration Division 1, Government Complex Building B (South Zone), Chaeng Wattana Road, Lak Si, Bangkok. If you live outside Bangkok, report at your local immigration office.

Good to know

  • Keep the receipt Immigration gives you. It is needed for your next report.
  • Applying for your first extension of stay counts as a 90-day report.
  • LTR visa holders report once a year instead of every 90 days (BOI).
